Changes to ideas
The reason we have made the decision to change the idea of our film is because the first idea we had for our production was too complex to be created using the facilities and cast we have available to us. The editing software we are planning to use, iMovie, does not have the capabilities to cause the effect of blacking out needed to represent the mental instability of the lead character. Furthermore, the time frame and cast at our disposal means that the character performance would be limited and cause us to not have sufficient footage to create a suspenseful trailer. This means that we have made the decision to change our idea so that it can be of higher quality and is not too complex to be recorded at such a low budget. The target audience is still very similar because the presence of kidnapping is still very similar to that of murder however there is less emphasis on the killer's issues. There is a bigger dependence of the audience to identify the kidnapper is mentally unstable and the police are less of a key part in the new plot.
